In order to consult archival materials at the VWI, users must complete a registration form once per calendar year, either in person in the reading room or digitally in advance. The data collected (personal information, research topic and intended use) are processed by the Archive of the Vienna Wiesenthal Institute for Holocaust Studies (VWI), Rabensteig 3, 1010 Vienna. The legal basis for processing personal data is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR. The archive management system records not only personal data but also the archival materials requested for consultation. By signing the form, users undertake to respect copyright, personal rights and the legitimate interests of third parties when using archival materials consulted at the VWI, whether analogue or digital. Users also agree to comply with the applicable legal provisions regarding civil status, data protection and archive regulations, in their current versions, and this applies to both users and their clients.
